When is it time to replace my window screens or solar screens?

The timing to replace window screens and solar screens depends on their condition. It is time to replace them if you notice tears, holes, or significant damage that affects their functionality. Additionally, consider replacement if they are old and worn out. As you can see in the picture most solar screens will change color as they collect dirt and dust. The sun will bake the dirt and dust into the screen and over time compromise the integrity of the screen. Here in southwest that's typically every 7-10 years for solar screens in direct sun, and 2-3 years for bug screens in direct sun.
